Lotuses are symbols of purity and spontaneous generation and hense symbolize divine birth. In Tantrism, it is the symbol of the feminine principle. The pink lotus is the supreme lotus, generally reserved for the highest deity, sometimes confused with the white lotus, it is the lotus of the historical Budda. In this presentation, it rests upon a green fountain, reminiscent of the waters of its origin. The octagonal fountain is 9 1/2 inches in diamer and 7 inches in height. The bowl is banded in copper and the solder joints are coated with copper paint to eliminate tarnish. The lotus fountain can be ordered in any combination of colors. The colors of the lotus itself have symbolic meanings as follows: White--symbolizes Bodhi, the state of total mental purity and spiritual perfection and the pacification of our nature. Red--symbolizes the nature of the heart. It is the lotus of love, compassion, passion, activity and all the qualities of the heart.
